When I got a tip about this from a loyal reader/friend I said "No they didn't!"

But it appears to be the case. Click here for more.

It's a twitpic from the NBC cafeteria by a guy named Questlove. He's got 1.2 million Twitter followers and I've never heard of him.

Personally, I love fried chicken and jalapeno cornbread. I don't think I've ever had a collard green.

If FOX had done this, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be fighting for air time.

"people are people",actually they are two faced people.A person with integrity needs not use slurs or demeaning words to get their point across.

Bob, your example of Zoeller is a good one. Again, even on the Emanuel thing, I wasn't trying to call you out for posting the story.

It goes back to the same thing, to me, though...Zoeller and Imus committed the same cardinal sin - they made their comments publicly, on the air, for the world to see. Emanuel's comments (as far as I can tell) were in a private meeting.

Now, I know some folks will say there shouldn't be any difference, but there is, and everyone KNOWS there's a difference in the real world. Look at all the celebs that everyone loves, but you hear all about how horrible they are in private. Such is life, people are people.

If you say something stupid in public, expect to get ripped apart for it. If you say something to a co-worker, be careful, but I think being afraid that every other person is going to run to the press is a sad state of affairs.

And if that didn't make much sense, I apologize...it's after midnight, and I should be in bed....

Whizzpopper, I was more talking people in the societal sense, not so much here, but yeah, I could have clarified that more....

As for the St. Paddy/Irish thing, you can't insult a group of folks that do it themselves. Take a look at Kelly's or O'Griff's come Mar 17. They're not INSULTED by the stereotype, they embrace and reinforce it.....and (as far as I can tell, as I'm neither Irish nor a drinker) everyone seems to have a damn good time, too....

I just went back through that Emanuel thread of comments, and I didn't find anyone applauding Palin. In fact, any comments about her were negative.

I agree with you on the PC crap, by the way.

Drunken Irishman is a stereotype? I thought they were synonyms.

Again, it's more about the hypocrisy than the statements themselves.

Remember when Fuzzy Zoeller said Tiger should ask for fried chicken at the Masters' dinner? He got killed, lost sponsorships, etc.

I pointed out Emanuel's comments mostly because my wife teaches special education. If that wasn't the case, I probably wouldn't have given it much attention.

Trust me, I'm not a PC police guy at all.
