My wife, the special education teacher, hates the "R" more than she hates the "F" word.

From the excellent blog of Jake Tapper of ABC News: Last August, (White House COS Rahm) Emanuel "showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides," the Journal's Peter Wallsten reported. "Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul. 'F-ing retarded,' Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants. He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items."

Tapper says Emanel has apologized to the Special Olympics brass.

More from Tapper: (Tim) Shriver heads the Special Olympics, which has launched a campaign urging people to stop using the term "retarded" as an insult, "Spread the word to end the word."

Former Alaska Gov, Sarah Palin, who has a son with Down's Syndrome, was offended by Emanuel's reported remark, posting on her Facebook page: "Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm's stature ever used the 'N-word' or other such inappropriate language, Rahm's slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities - and the people who love them - is unacceptable, and it's heartbreaking.

If you look I am sure Bush made more goofs that is why he did few press conferences.

Obama did make an offhand remark about the Special Olympics early last year -- and DID get a pass.

I don't agree with all this PC BS -- I don't mind either comment, myself. The point is that there is the double standard that Pookie referred to. The liberally biased media chooses which stories to be outrageously outraged about, and which stories to ignore.

Prez O says

during the campaign going to all 57 states, just yesterday pronounced corpsman as corpse man. His VP tells a wheelchair bound man to stand up. Biden must have thought that Prez O was in the room and that the Messiah did a miracle to make the man stand. O does plenty of gaffs himself. No prompter, no thoughts.......

At least with Bush it was him making the goofs. Obama it is people under him. So I guess it is different than the actual President saying it.

Also with football there are armchair quarter backs and also I guess arm chair Presidents.

Difference between then and now

If Bush would have uttered it, the media would have (and constantly did) crucify him. Team Obama does it and it basically gets a pass.

As to the blank canvas, most politicans are blanks without the brains behind them. The Dems right now (and forever) have the media doing their dirty work or burying the story work. That's is the main difference.

There is a difference here. It is funny that she supposed to have refered to her child with the same word.

Pookie what you uttered could be said of the last president also. Take away his handlers and there was really a blank canvas.

I guess he should have told them those that balked that they were mentally challenged with the IQ of a stump. Either way it means the same thing.

Double standards

I am about about as anti PC as there is. I like a good joke, call them as I see them type guy. But if a Republican had uttered those words or Conservative, Tea Party, etc., the firestorm of wanting their head on a pike would be unreal. The Emanuel brothers (there are two working for the Big Zero, I mean Big O) are bullet proof. Can't take the brains of the Obama White House away, then we are left with a really blank canvas.

She probably doesn't read the papers but she wanted $100,000 to speak at the Tea Party gathering in Ohio. Oh boy I am for the common guy but I want a big chunk of change to do it. So much for Joe Plumber.

Jesus Christ on a crutch is this stupid... N-word, r-word ur-word my-word, what is the big deal? When does calling it like you see it become a federal case? It is a sad day on this miserable planet when one must censor every single solitary word out of fear of offending some thin skinned cry-baby. Be a man of your word. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Say what is on your mind and let the listener do with it as they see fit. Personally, I could care less what anyone thinks about what I have to say. My opinions of issues and people are just that, MY OPINIONS and thanks to the founding fathers and their wisodom I am able to spout off at will. Will, you know who you are...
