From politico.com: Legislation that would force government and Hill staffers to pay back taxes or lose their jobs was pulled from House committee markup after Democrats hit the brakes.

In 2008 alone, 447 House employees and 231 Senate workers didn’t pay their taxes, according to figures from the IRS, Office of Personnel Management, and Department of Defense. Federal employees in the U.S. House of Representatives owed more than $5.8 million in unpaid taxes in 2008. The Senate employees owe more than $2.46 million, according to figures.

I don't care which party they belong too. They should be arrested for tax evasion if they have not filed. Those who filed and haven't paid should be given a 30 day deadline and if payment is not received they should be terminated with no possibility of rehire.

Its bad enough we elect some thieves, but we don't need to keep employing others.

has been a problem from all the past administrations. It just is now being brought up. I wonder how many of those not paying taxes are from the other party?

Not accountable for the laws they write, as usual. Turbo Tax Timmy would approve.

Wonder what the percentage of those in DC who skirt their taxes as opposed to the country as a whole is.
