Outdoor Power of Quincy will provide the US Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake in Monroe City, Missouri with a Sea Doo Personal Watercraft to use for safety checks and boater education throughout this Summer.
The US Army Corps of Engineers use personal watercrafts, like the one provided by Outdoor Power, as they are more economical to operate than full sized patrol boats, sometimes using one-quarter the amount of gasoline. Response time is also cut dramatically and the watercraft size and lack of propeller make it possible to come right up to a victim in the water. They are also used for searching for missing persons, transporting paramedics, and enforcing boater regulations.
The US Army Corps of Engineers stationed at Mark Twain Lake serves over 2.2 million visitors each year over 55,000 acres of water and land. They have the responsibility of sustaining a safety first attitude and culture throughout day-to-day operations. One of their major goals is to provide water safety education and keep the public safe as they enjoy the water this summer.
Outdoor Power was founded in 1994 by Jeff and Sandy Waterman and has two locations in Quincy.
