JWCC students test higher than national norm

As part of its continued work to evaluate and enhance student learning outcomes, John Wood Community College recently administered the Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) test to a group of graduating sophomore students.

The CAAP test is a standardized, nationally-normed assessment program from ACT that enables postsecondary institutions to assess, evaluate and enhance student learning and general education outcomes.

A random group of 89 graduating sophomores took the critical thinking section of the CAAP test. JWCC student CAAP test scores averaged 62.2. Nationally, the mean for all graduating sophomores for two-year institutions was 60.7. Twelve JWCC students tested in the 99th percentile nationally.

Because one goes to a Jr. college does mean they cannot learn. Going to a 4 year institution does not make students sucessful. Has more to with money and other person committments. KUDOS to JWCC.
