Brown County Little League will be hosting the 2011 Little League 9/10 year old girls Softball State Tournament July 30th through August 3rd in Mt. Sterling. The tournament will be made up of 4 different teams from across Illinois that have advanced out of Sectional play. The tournament will open with a Parade of Champions at 1pm on Saturday, July 30th, and the first games will follow at 2 and 4 that afternoon. The tournament will be a Double Elimination format with the first championship game scheduled for 6pm on Tuesday August 2nd. This is the first time ever that Brown County Little League has hosted a state tournament. The honor to host this tournament has come from the tireless efforts of countless volunteers and the many improvements they have made at the Brown County Little League ballpark.
This tournament is the culmination of the season for all involved in this tournament and all are invited to come out to the ballpark, cheer the teams on, and enjoy the action. There are no admission fees to enjoy the action and the Brown County Little League will be hosting a cookout every day of the tournament. The schedule of events for the tournament is listed below.

1:00 pm – Parade of Champions
2:00 pm – Game #1, Section 1 vs. Section 4
4:00 pm – Game #2, Section 2 vs. Section 3
Sunday, July 31, 2011:
2:00 pm – Game #3, Looser of Game #1 vs. Loser of Game #2
4:00 pm – Game #4, Winner of Game #1 vs. Winner of Game #2
Monday, August 1, 2011:
6:00 pm – Game #5, Winner of Game #3 vs. Loser of Game #4
Tuesday, August 2, 2011:
6:00 pm – Game #6 – State Championship, Winner of Game #4 vs. Winner of Game #5
Wednesday, August 3, 2011:
6:00 pm – Game #7 – State Championship, Winner of Game #6 vs. Loser of Game #6 (If Necessary)
