Hawks ranked, Lady Hawks move up

The Quincy University men's basketball team is now ranked #24 in the latest NABC Division II Coaches Poll. This marks the first time Quincy has been in the top 25 of the poll since the 2007 season.

Quincy is currently 8-0 overall this season and 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Hawks received 15 total points in the poll this week after receiving two points in last week's poll and being listed in the Receiving Votes section. This marks the first time the Hawks have been in the top 25 of the poll since February 18, 2007 when they were ranked #25.

Quincy hosts the 10th annual Quincy University/Subway Holiday Tournament this weekend December 19-20 in Pepsi Arena. Teams include Quincy, Truman State University, #22 ranked Mesa State College and Central State University. Games are at 3 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. each day with Quincy playing the second game each day. The Quincy University women's basketball team is up to #12 in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Coaches Poll, jumping up four spots from the previous poll.

Quincy is currently 10-0 on the season, marking the first time in program history they are undefeated and have recorded double digit wins prior to the New Year. The Lady Hawks are also 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference this season and sit in first place in the GLVC North Division. This marks the 11th consecutive week that the Lady Hawks have been ranked in the top 25 national poll.

Quincy returns to action January 2nd on the road when they face #4 ranked University of Indianapolis. Quincy and Indianapolis are the only two GLVC teams in this week's poll. For a complete list of the poll click HERE
