The first annual ‘Disadvantage to Advantage’ Spring 2010 Basketball Coaching Clinic is rapidly approaching! The final schedule of clinicians and the topics they will be presenting has been officially released and set. We are extremely excited about our line-up of speakers and we are convinced that coaches from all levels, parents of players, and basketball enthusiasts can all benefit from the information that will be shared. The unique combination of high school coaches, nationally-renowned clinicians, local coaches, and long-time camp/clinic clinicians should provide a day full of fun and ready to use information. This is the first clinic of its kind offered in this tri-state area in a number of years and we hope you can be here to share it with us. Lunch will be provided, refreshments will be served all day, and each clinician will utilize college players for on-court demonstrations and drill work. A variety of handouts, pamphlets and coaching information will be available for giveaways and purchase throughout the day. APRIL 17, 2010 BASKETBALL COACHING CLINIC
I wanted to drop a note and let you know of our upcoming Spring Basketball Coaching Clinic on Saturday, April 17th. This clinic is for all coaches and assistants, both men and women, at all levels. It will be the first of many professional development opportunities that we hope to provide for you, your staff, and members of our community that have a true to desire to learn, discuss, and live the game of basketball.
As a Spring clinic, the focus will be placed on things such as individual development workouts, strength and conditioning, speed and agility workouts, and drill work for both the offensive and the defensive sides of the basketball. In addition, practice progressions and special ‘nuggets’ for offensive sets and defensive systems will be covered. It should be a full day of basketball conversation, on the court demonstrations, and networking. We are excited to be in a position, with a terrific facility, to be able to offer a day such as this.
Each demonstration will have on-court interaction and informational materials and handouts will be available throughout the day. Lunch and snacks will be provided and we will organize a ‘social’ after the last clinician for any and all coaches that want to continue to just ‘talk the game’.
We are looking forward to sharing more details as we near April 17th, but be sure to get the date on your calendar and feel free to email or call with any questions. Please forward this email on and share this information with your coaching colleagues, staff, and others in the coaching community.
