The Quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau recently elected officers and board members for the 2010-11 year at the Bureau’s annual meeting, held June 9th. Officers re-elected to a one-year term include: Ted Meyer, Chairman; Joe Wand, 1st Vice Chairman and Adams County Board Representative; Charlie Doan, Treasurer; Dax Fohey, Secretary and Hotel/Motel Representative; Tony Sassen, City Council Representative; Jeanene Dean, Hancock County Representative; Kaye Iftner, Pike County Representative. Scott Frese, owner of Pop’s Pizza, is new to the QACVB Board of Directors this year and will serve as 2 Vice Chairman and Restaurateur.
The mission of the
Quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. is to enhance the economy of
Adams, Hancock, and Pike Counties through the promotion of the area as a
destination for overnight visitors. This shall be accomplished by
encouraging groups to hold meetings, conventions, activities and trade shows in
this area. The QACVB serving the area for 25 years, a state certified
Convention & Visitors Bureau through the Illinois Tourism Office,
Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.
