Through the hate of warring factions, in defiance of their families and in secrecy from their closest friends, a young couple risks all they have to be together. Romeo and Juliet, one of Shakespeare’s most thrilling and popular plays, confronts each new generation with its passion and force. This adaptation, Romeo/Juliet, has been edited from Shakespeare’s text for a cast of five and with a running time of 80-minutes. While utilizing the Shakespearean language, this version is straight-forward and easy to follow.
The cast includes Sierra Schnack as Prince, Nurse, Servant and Apothecary; Jacob Rokusek as Romeo and Paris; Mia Bergstrom as Juliet and Tybalt; Jay Stalder as Capulet, Friar, and Mercutio; and Kaitlyn VanderMaiden as Benvolio, Lady Capulet, and Montague.
Romeo/Juliet is under the direction of Brandon Thomsen, QCT’s Student Theatre/Education Director. Paul Denckla, QCT’s Technical Director, is the scenic and lighting designer, and Naomi Lester is serving as Stage Manager.
Romeo/Juliet is also a touring production (2010’s QCT on the Road production) that performed for several local high schools this past spring.
